Description | The chief contractor for these years was Richard Lloyd of Plas Uchaf, Llanfaethlu (it is not very clear wether he was once a member of the Holyhead syndicate, cp.LLIG/35-40), and papers LLIG/41-53 contain the agreement signed by him on the 7 April, 1862, several notices of discontinuance of work during the stormy winter months, and the somewhat casual transference of his interest to Robert Morris of Erw Goch, Llanfachreth. Such unbusinesslike methods could not long continue, and LLIG/54 sees a new man on the scene - Mr Hugh Williams of Parc in Llandrygarn- who signs an agreement with Lord Boston's agent on very much the same terms re the Sychnant Quarry and matters of trespass as Richard Lloyd had done in 1862. As usual, Thomas Edwards of Bodafon was at hand to act as witness |
