Ultimately Griffith seems to have, after adopting for a time a cool and contemptuous attitude (LLIG/692), signed an admission of error regarding the encroachment and a willingness to pay an annual rent in recognition thereof, but the exact day of April, 1867, is not given in the document (LLIG/693).
