Description | Considerable conflict of evidence, which involved not only the tenants of Rhos cerrig and Gwrddu respectively, but their landlords, Lord Boston and Captain Hunter of Plas Coch (the latter’s agent was Owen Thomas of Neuadd Cemmaes, most probably the later General Owen Thomas, for some time M.P. for Anglesey; the difficulty is to distinguish between him and his father, who was also named Owen Thomas). The most interesting documents are LLIG/703, the evidence of ancient inhabitants taken on the 3 July, 1885, and LLIG/712, which supplies the somewhat startling suggestion that the wife of the plaintiff is more likely to give evidence in favour of the defendant than for her own husband |
