TitlePapers relating to Rhos fawr common, parish of Llanidan
DescriptionWhich tell of the selling of five dwelling-houses at Merllyn by the guardians of the poor for the Caernarvon district, under 6 Williams IV, by which parish property could be disposed of subject to stringent rules and regulations, for the permanent advantage of the parish, under the direction of the Poor Law Board (the parish vestry had to agree, which it did by resolution on 22 June, 1860). The origin of this charity – the cottages being let to rent free – is quite unknown; no light is thrown on the matter in these papers, nor in the inquiry held at Llanidan on 20 April, 1896, by Mr T.E. Morris (see “Endowed Charities Reports, Anglesey,” 1897, p.354). In fact, papers LLIG/744 and LLIG/745 relate to this inquiry of 1896
