DisgrifiadThe text explains how Germany cannot understand Britain’s declaration of War against her because of the Treaty signed by the great European powers in 1839 guaranteeing the protection of Belgium as an independent and free state.
The copy of this treaty with the signatures of the representatives of Britain, Belgium, Austria, France, Prussia and Russia is shown on the left. Underneath is placed Article VII which was written in French and affirms the independence and neutrality of Belgium.

On the back is written ‘In Memory of Germany’s Honour Which died on August 4th 1914.’
