AdminHistoryElizabeth Giffard is described as the grand-daughter of Elizabeth, eldest sister of the Edward Williams of Nerquis Hall who died in 1737. For considerable light on this Williams family, the accession of the Hydes of Chester to their lands, and afterwards the Giffards of Chillington, see Pedigrees, 340. The Williamses of Nerquis were intimately connected with Pont-y-Gwyddel in Llanefydd, in the Abergele hinterland.
