DescriptionA collection of 138 items, consisting of papers relating to the administration of the Parciau estate, including deeds relating to lands in Benllech, Llanallgo, Llanddyfnan, Llaneilian, Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf, Llanfihangel Tre'r beirdd, Llangefni, Llantrisant, Penmynydd, Tregaean, co. Anglesey; Bangor, co. Caernarfon; co. Limerick, co. Dublin and the city of Dublin, Ireland; East Cliff, Dover; and also papers relating to Biggleswade, co. Bedford. Among the other papers related to the administration of the estate are, correspondence, plans, conditions of sale, requisitions on title, insurance policies, receipts, statutory declarations, certificates, reports and valuations, notices, land certificates, a bundle of absolute orders of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries, together with assignments of rent-charge, copies of absolute orders, lists of securities, an agreement regarding a right of way, copy of entries in the Land Registry and a list of documents relating to the Parciau estate.

AdminHistoryOn 3 August 1871, William Williams of Parciau, situated in the parish of Llaneugrad, Anglesey, married Marian, the eldest daughter of General William Henry Scott and Harriet Alethea, sister of John Thomas Stanley of Alderley and Penrhos, Holyhead. William Williams and Marian had a son in 1876 who was educated at Harrow and Trinity College Cambridge. He was Lieutenant-Colonel Lawrence Williams OBE who served in the South African War 1901, the First World War, 1914-1918 and World War II.

Lieutenant-Colonel Lawrence Williams married his first wife, Catherine Elizabeth Ann, daughter of Col. George Phibbs in 1897 and had issues. Their eldest son was Sir Reginald Lawrence Williams MBE, the 7th Bart. of Bodelwyddan, born 1900. He was succeeded by his brother Sir Francis John Watkin Williams QC, 8th Bart., born 1905.

The second wife of Lieutenant-Colonel Lawrence Williams, whom he married on 12 October 1909, was Elinor Henrietta, the daughter of Sir William Grenville Williams the 4th Bart. of Bodelwyddan. They had two children, Sir Lawrence Hugh, born 25 August 1929 and Penelope Lawrence, born 24 June 1925.
