Title | Copies of two deeds of feoffment, one by Llewelyn ap Ieuan ap Gruffydd ap Madock Duy to Hugh Clement, 'clericus' (16 Decr. 1510), the other by Hugh Clement to Hugh ap Llywelyn ap Ieuan ap Gruffydd (8 Aug.,1513); land in each case, and the same land, in commote of Talybolion |
AdminHistory | Several points of interest - Hugh Clement was parson of Rhoscolyn and evidently instituted to the living at a date previous to the first entry in Mr A Ivor Pryce's 'Diocese of Bangor' Vol.1; William Nant is another cleric who appears as a witness in the second feoffment. More than all, Hugh ap Llywelyn ap Ieuan ap Gruffydd ap Madoc was grandfather of Hugh Hughes the elder; but the 'Pedigrees' have only got Hugh ap Llywelyn ap Ieuan ap Madock leaving the 'ap Gruffydd' out. [On a futher examination of the early documents, J.E.G. seems to be correct, and the copyist wrong] |
