PCO/83
Title
Indenture between Richard Griffith of Porthamel (one party) and Rowland Meredith of Bodowyr together with Hugh Hughes of Lincoln's Inn (second party); provision for suffering a recovery at the next ensuing Great Sessions for Anglesey upon the lands of Richard Griffith in Gwydryn and Porthamel (two messuages, two cottages, two gardens, etc.) in order to secure the seisin to Rowland Meredith and Hugh Hughes.
Description
Among the witnesses is Richard Whyte of Friars.
Date
20 August 1570
AdminHistory
This document of 1570 definitely disproves the circumstantial statement in the 'Pedigrees' that Rowland Meredith of Bodowyr died on Aug.3,'1563' (p.51). Indeed R.M.'s signature at the foot is a particularly bold and healthy one.
