TitleLetter from Henry Jones to (?John Owen of Penrhos)
DescriptionThough I am not (by a threefold inability of fortune, parts and body) qualified for a patriot, yet I have strange zealous sentiments for the honour, and safety of any country - a Roman virtue now quite exploded by the great ones, being but a beggarly profession that brings in no underhand French pensions, the generosity of that Prince (as the admiring Knaves and Fooles of this Age term it) hath fitted most kingdomes for slavery, and his bribes have open'd more fates and defeated more great designs than either his Personall Valour or Conduct.....(see paper catalogue for full description).
