TeitlLetter (copy) from Lieutenant Thomas Kynaston at Beaumaris Castle to Sir John Carter.
DisgrifiadAcknowledges the receipt of William Okes's Letter (see PEN/5/301).
Will endeavour punctually to observe the orders contained therein. Lord Bulkeley sent for the writer, showed him his Majesty's Patent for Constable of the Castle; and demanded thereupon to have the possession thereof as Constable. The writer then showed his Lordship the order which prohibited him to do so. Since then Bulkeley has sent to the writer in the presence of Bishop Price, Mr. Pierce Lloyd and the Mayor of the town to have possession as Constable, but the writer told him that he dared not deliver anyone the possession without further order from the King, the Duke of Albemarle or Carter. Is much threatened to be questioned for his actions therein.
