TitleLetter from Maurice Lewis to Edward Owen at Penrhos
DescriptionCousin Neddy'. Has received a letter from Maurice at South Carolina with his service to cousin Hugh wherein he tells the writer that he had borrowed from one Richard Price in London £12 for which Hugh & Maurice gave their notes, and that the whole sum was for the use of cousin Hugh. On the 14th February 1733 when he (Hugh) first got out after his first illness the writer got him £30 from one Robert Summerfield for which the writer and Hugh gave their joint notes. His purpose is to acquaint Owen that both the sums were received by Hugh and applied to his own use. Delayed acquainting the Doctor or Owen therein, but he is now called upon for his note, and begs Owen to acquaint the Doctor thereof or find some way to make the creditor easy.
