TitleLetter from Edward Owen at Penrhos to his brother, Hugh Owen
DescriptionThe most material piece of news and the worst he can communicate is his despair of his brother's mare's ever recovering so as to be serviceable. Waited upon the Chancellor before his leaving the country and had a slight invitation to Hereford; will probably set out next month. "Our Psalmody goes on mighty well in our opinion & Messures Ellis & Morris were fond enough of their performance to go with their books to Cairey to entertain Mr Rowlands and company with Ch. Musick by way Carrola Hae, but whether the Hearers or performers recd most pleasure you may guess". Mr Power, the owner of the Packets at Holyhead, is a constant attender at their singing; tomorrow, he, Mr Sheriff and a parcel of them intend taking a trip to Skerries. Mr James Bulkeley and his chaplain, Dr Cow, favoured the writer with their company Thursday last and next night they had a Dancing Bout or Ball at Mrs Welch's; the partners were Mr Bulkeley and Jenny Hughes, Mr Sheriff and Patty Langford, Jenny Taylor and the writer, Mr Fowler and Miss Vickers, Dr Cow and Letty Langford.
