Description | When cousin Pierce is to be sent over let John Owen send his letter by him to Mr Richard Jones at Mrs Griffiths in St Bridges Street, who has promised the writer to have a singular care of him and to diet and lodge him with herself till further provision can be made for him. Though the place he lives at is somewhat remote from the College yet the writer hopes the benefit he will reap by his good example and counsel will countervail his pains in walking. Tomorrow he is to go to the visitation, where he expects to meet Mr Archdeacon of Dublin, who, he doubts not, upon his request will take care to see Pierce admitted. What John Owen sends over with him may be safely deposited in Mr Jones's hands for his use. It is requisite that Pierce should bring a bedstead, bed sheets and bed clothes for his future accomodation, if a chamber can be procured for him in the College. John Owen's letters to the Bishop of Ossory and Dean Parry to solicit the Provost at their session for scholar's places might be of some consequence to him. The nets John Owen writes for cannot be procured in Oxford till about six weeks or two months. As for the boat, the writer must have further time to advice about it |
