TitleLetter from William Owen at Wexford to his brother, John Owen of Penrhos
DescriptionThis brings his brother the sorrowful news of cousin Bean's death on the sixth instant after a month's sickness. He had a complication of distempers and the day before he died the jaundice appeared, which, it is supposed, put an end to his life. It is a great satisfaction to the writer that he lived and died so well, generally beloved and lamented. The day before he died the Bishop visited him and was much concerned, and was resolved to bestow a benefice on him. The charges of his sickness and of his funeral came near to forty pounds which the writer has already answered. There are some desperate debts behind in Wexford which the writer cannot imagine how and when they may be recovered. As for his house that he died possessed of in Anglesey, he leaves that to his brother's care, hoping to see him this summer if the coasts be free from privateers
