TeitlLetter from William Owen at London to his mother Mrs Ann Owen at Penrhos
DisgrifiadNeither cousin Lloyd nor the writer have had the happiness to see Mr Lewis as yet. He happened to be at a coffee house the other day where perchance there was a gentleman who was giving an account of the Indies where he had been several years. The writer asked him what sort of life the factors lead there, their salary etc., the man replied that the salary was very insignificant unless they were industrious and minded trading, and he was of opinion that they must be very sedate and not giddy-headed people that go over there. As for being bound to an East Indie man, the writer can say nothing, for he doesn't know where to find any one to give him an account of it; but he wonders his brother being so long idle in town, did not consult somebody about these things. Cousin Lloyd is still in trouble for as soon as she has done with one she is with another. Is now as much tired of London as he used to be of the country, for there is nothing to be seen or learned there now. Desires his mother to send him his £20 as soon as possible for it is now a quarter of a year since he saw her. Will probably go to Hereford or somehwere out of town
