Confesses that he has (although ignorantly) provoked Bold to deal extremely with him, yet he humbly desires that Bold will mitigate his persecution of the writer's ignorant offence. Though they who have shot at Bold through the writer, their stalking horses, are endeavouring to cheat themselves from their action, yet the writer really acknowledges his mistake therein.
