TeitlRe-assignment of a lease of tithes during the Commonwealth.
DisgrifiadAssignment ( 20 May, 1654) by Hugh Williams of Lincoln's Inn to John Jones of Bangor of the rectorial tithes of Ysceifiog in Anglesey, parcel of pssessions of the [late] Dean and Chapter of Bangor; re-assignment by John Jones to Richard Owen Theodor [Tudur, of Penmynydd] and Robert Coytmor of Ty Mawr by Llanllechid, for "the rest and residue", the tithes of lambs, wool, geese, and all lactualls expected, at a yearly rent of £36. Special provisions in the re-assignment for the interests of the clerics William Lloyd and Lewis Williams, both ejected by the Puritans from their livings of Llanfihangel Ysceifiog and Llanidan respectively, the first being now described as "of Pentraeth", and the second "of Glan y Gorse in the Countie of Anglizey". It is very doubtful if this document, were it brought to the light of day at the time, would pass uncondemned by the Commonwealth authorities. [This John Jones is not to be confused with Dean John Jones, who had only been born four years before 1654].
