AdminHistoryThere is no doubt which of the many John Griffith's of Llanddyfnan this is; he describes himself as " son and heir of John ap John Griffith and Elin ferch Hugh", i.e., John Griffith III, who married Elin, daughter of Robert Bulkeley of Gronant; his sister Jane married Rhys ap William ap Ifan of Plas Gwyn, great-great-grandfather of William Jones the elder (cp. carefully Pedigrees, pp. 14, 104). Chwaen Hen was in Llantrisant; it was his father ( John Griffith II ) who had the Llanddyfnan lands in right of his wife Elin.
