| Disgrifiad | A document made a little difficult to follow because of the two lettice Owens that figure in it, both widows, one (the elder) the widow of Owen Owen of Cremlyn who died in 1693, the other (the younger) widow of his son John who died in 1712. It refers to the difficuties caused by the death (also in 1712) of John's brother William, intestate; it followed that a large number of people claimed benenfit of his estate by what is called here the "statute of Distribution", viz. , Lettice Owen of Cremlyn (his mother), administratix; his sister Jane, wife of W.J. of Pentraeth; and five children of his brother John, all infants under 21 years. Suits at law threatened; but it was agreed amongst the family due to the deceased W.O. from Edmund Fitzgerald of Bodowyr [an Irishman who had married Margaret, daughter of Henry Price of Bodowyr] should be the first assigned for distribution, etc. |
