AdminHistoryThe name of the person to whom the letter was adressed is not preserved, but there is hardly a doubt it was [the first] Paul Panton of Plas Gwyn. Thomas Williams of Llanidan (1737-1801) was an attorney and agent of Mynydd Parys mine; on his father's side was descended fromthe old family of Plas Gwyn [Jones]. His father had bought Treffos; T.W. was uncle to the John Williams who wrote the note of 1805 (147).
