Title
Three account books containing particulars of expenses incurred during the borough election
Description
The first 2 give full particulars of each creditor's bill and are of interest as revealing the enormous amount of food and drink consumed during the period of the election. The third itemises the payments made by Hughe Price, the election agent. Theses totalled £1148.11.8.5d - a sum which should be compared with that expended on the Anglesey county election of the same year and especially the Caernarvon boroughs election of 1832.
Date
1784
AdminHistory
The successful candidate in the 1784 election was Glynn Wynn, younger son of Sir John Wynn, Bart., of Glynllifon, who defeated his brother, Lord Newborough, by 80 votes
