DisgrifiadA midshipman's mother is anxious to see him promoted (2141). The Collector of Customs at Caernarvon wants an increase in his salary (2142-3). The Colector of Customs at Caernarvon wasnts an increase in his salary (2142-3). 2155 refers to the "melencholy catastrophe" caused by the upsetting of a ferry boat in the Straits, and suggests that the Marquess would do well to introduce a Bill in the House with a view to minimising such disasters in future. The curate of the parishes of Llanfihangel Esceifiog and Llanffinan solicits the Marquess' co-operation in erecting a National School to serve the parishes; he stresses the urgent need for such a school in view of "the establishment of a flourishing colliery" in the area (a reference to teh Berw Colliery, then about to enter into production - see John Williams : "The History of Berw" - Anglesey Antiquarian Society and Field Club, supplement 1915), and the expected increase in the population of Llanfihangel with the building of the new post road through the parish.
