DisgrifiadThe bulk of the letters falling into this section are from persons of various stations in life appealing to the Marquess of Anglesey to secure them posts either in his own gift or over which he had any control in virtue of his extensive Parliamentary interest and connections. Many of the petitions are obviously genuine; other again just aare obiouvly emanate from cranks and humbugs and idle place-seekers - the plague of every nobleman and gentlemen of means and standing in those days. There are also a few appeals for subscriptions and donations for charitablt and other worthy objects. As usual, the task of dealing with all these matters fell to the lot of John Sanderson, and this he manages with the tact
