Description | Acknowledges the receipt of the latter's letter of 9 June, containing professions of sincere attachment to the Plas Newydd cause, tangible proof of which, however, the writer confesses he has failed to discover. On the contrary, he instances the opposition which Newborough's father, Sir John Wynn, "gave my father when he was deprived of the Representation of this county in the elevtion of 1761"; nor can he recollect having received any support from Glynllifon subsequent to that date. As for the election that is just over, had Newborough only been present to make his claim, he would have "proved my sense" of that claim. The latter ends on a note of warning : "whenever your Lordship may think proper to disturb me or any of my family, you may be assured I shall defend myself and them to the last extremity". |
