| Disgrifiad | Attention this year appears to be focused mainly on the Volunteer Corps, the First Battalion of which moves to Caernarvon in September for 10 days permanent duty there. A General Return of the corps made in August shows a total establishment of 1025, both battalions being described as "advancing in descipline" (899). Of considerable interest, too, are the detailed militia returns completed in December, showing the number and quality of the male population of each parish (919, 920) |
