DescriptionThese reflect the alarm occasioned by a proposal (contained in the Act of 6th and 7th Wm. IV) to Unite the two sees of Bangor and St. Asaph, and appropriate the revenues of the one to be suppressed to the endowment of new English dioceses. Lord Anglesey lays before the Ecclesiastical Commisioners the case for the preservation of the Amlwch tithes.Through the efforts of the Earl of Powis, the proposal was annulled in 1846, when the Bill was given its second reading.
