TeitlCorrespondence with references to the drainage and enclosure of Malltraeth Marsh, initiated under the Acts of 1788 and 1790
DisgrifiadPreliminary difficulties over the matter of estimates and the extent of Crown rights in the Manor of Rhosfair. By February, 1790, the scheme is reported to be proceeding expeditiously, £50 to £60 per week being paid to the workmen (1182,1183, 1188, 1190). 1185 comes from Richard Poole, Clerk of the Peace stressing the need for a Record Office to house the county records, which are now kept in "different places and carried about whenever occasion requires". The Commission of the Peace, he adds, has been lost and cannot be traced. A small dark romm in one end of the County Hall could easily be adapted for the purpose at a trifiling cost to the county.
