TitleStatement listing "Reasons why Anglesey should be excluded for eighteen months from the Operation of the Bill for reducing the Duty on Coals carried coastwise"
DescriptionPrepared by Mr Jennings, on behalf of the Anglesey Company, stressing the absolute necessity for retaining the protective duty on coal if the Berw Colliery is to continue in production. Refers to the "promising state" which the Colliery, after repeated attempts and setbacks, has now attained through the efforts of a "company of farmers, the great part of whom have embarked their all in teh adventure"; the company's hopes of reaching the main seam by November - a project plan which will have to be abandoned unless an adequate matket can be found; the monopoly which it enjoys of the Beaumaris coal market. Accompanying the statement is a rough map of Anglesey showing the extreme distance at which Berw coal can now be sold at the same price as at the waterside.
