Description | The report states that since the foundation of the society 10,500 Welsh Bibles, 13,300 Welsh Testaments, 1,900 English Bibles and 1,600 English Testaments have been distributed in the county (1218). Subscriptions are invited in February, 1836 by the Sub-Commissioners of Pilotage for the Port of Beaumaris towards the purchase of a competent pilot vessel, the Commissioners viewing with anxiety the want of sufficient securit for the increasing trade carried on and passing through the Menai Straits. The undertaking is well supported, not only by the country gentry but by some of the principal Liverpool merchants (1222-1230). Another navigatonal matter is raised in (1231) - a plan for placing a floating light off Caernarvon Bar. |
