TitleLetter from Thomas Williams of Llanidan to Lord Uxbridge
DescriptionLast night witnesses were examined and counsel heard on the Menai Bridge Bill. Though it was literally thrown out, the writer has the satisfaction of saying that it was consigned to damnation. The whole House was convinced of the impracticability of the scheme as well as the dangerous consequesnces that must resul to the navigation of the Straits. Lord Penrhyn then moved a weeks adjournment to give time to consider a plan for a new bridge, which is to have only one arch sprung from Ynys y Moch - this arch to be 70 feet high in the centre. Begs Lord Uxbridge to come up to town to take the lead in considering this new plan.
