Deed of covenant, (previous to the marriage of either Arthur Bagnall or Griffith Bagnall, eldest and second sons respectively of the said Sir H.B. and Jane Griffith, one of the daughters of the said Robert Griffith; the said marriage to take place between Michaelmas, (1600) that Sir Robert Salesbury Kt. and John Puleston of Llwyn y Cnotie, co. Denbigh, shall, as trustees stand seised of the capital messuage of Porthamel, alias Y Plas Newydd and of all messuages and lands belonging to Maurice Griffith lying between the high way leading from Carregwydryn to Beaumaris west, and the River Menai, east., and the way leading from Bon y don to Llanddaniel, south, and the way leading from Llwynogan to Pwllfanogl north, and the water corn mill called Melin Pwllfanogl in Porthamel, together with a close in Porthamel called Y Cae Newydd; elaborate arrangements for jointure and sucession. |
