Description | This group lacks the unity that characterizes the majority of the others, a fact that is probably due to the diverse origin of the papers. Some of them appear to be incidental to shrievalty activities, others arise out of purely parish business and others again arise out of proceedings against defaulters. The latter are the most numerous and they include accounts of arrears in individual parishes such as Llanbeblig (1801-1808) and Llandwrog (1816) and papers connected with 'drives'' made agaisnt defaulting collectors in Caernarvon county in 1811 and in Anglesey in 1814 and in 1818. |
