DisgrifiadThe documents in this valuable section have been grouped as follows :
- Procedure
- Administration
- Account Books
- Prothonotary's accounts
Among those dealing with procedure are manuscript copies of orders in court governing procedure (1638-1828), a copy of Rice Vaughan's "Practica Walliae" (1672), and "The Manor of Holding the General Sessions of the Peace" and copies of several acts of parliament dealing with the administration of justice in Wales.
The administration papers include minutes of business done at several sessions, correspondence (mostly with the circuit judge), jury lists, certificates of the enrolment of attorneys, tables of fees and profits, rules of court, returns of prisoners, pleas, appointment deed of deputy prothonotary (1810a and 1827), and of the Justice (58 Geo. III, July 11), and such papers as observations upon Lord Althorpe's county court bill (1821) and the Welsh Judicature Bill (1822-1823).
The account books seem to be incomplete; the sessions bill books cover the years 1789-1802, 1814-1818, 1927-1829, while an attorneys' ledger extends from 1822-1831.
The prothonotary accounts, which consist of accounts between the office and individual attornies on the circuit, are almost complete from 1810 to 1831 and very numerous for the previous twenty years.
