TitleCorrespondence to or from W. Corbett Jones Parry relating to the projected Porthdinllaen Railway
DescriptionRefractory points reerred to - the Cefn Amwlch interests in the vicinity of the harbour, the claims of the Admiralty, the attitude of the Cambrian and Welsh Coast Railway Company, the Harbour Company of 1806, the Act of 1862.
Questions of procedure loom large in the letters of the London agents (Messrs. Bloxam, Elison and Bloxam), such as petitions in the Lords, appeals and injunctions etc.
Possibly the most interesting letter of all is that from Rev. Owen Williams of Bodfean, breaking the news of the fruitless meeting at Nefyn and failure to obtain signatures to a petition at Morfa. "So I took it to Porthdinllaen and am now starting down there to see about it". He is happy to say that the locomotive engine for the railway arrived at Pwllheli on 26th July.
