Dunning) upon the question whether the Trustees of the Baron Hill estate would be justified in building a dam or bank across Cleifiog Sands in order to protect the London-Holyhead road and benefit their own property and that of contiguous landowners, even if Sir John Stanley of Penrhos, who owned some of the land nearby, had intimated his resolution to oppose any such project. Counsel was asked also to keep in mind the Act passed 15 Geo.III, pages 46,52. His opinion seems highly favourable to the Trustees proceeding with the work
