C.H.Evans, 55th Regt., [the younger, son of C.H.Evans] killed at the Battle of Inkerman, and buried on Aug. 7, 1855: wild flowers plucked on the hill where he was buried, and one or two pencilled notes written (it is evident) in hospital in great pain; with these, rather curiously, is a letter of apology for some indiscretion from a brother officer.
