1558 - Will of Hugh Robert Hughes of Bache, co. Chester, esq. (A note on the dorse in the testator's hand states that this will was canclled by him 26 November 1826)

1562 - An act to enable the Right Honourable William Lewis, Lord Dinorben, by mortgage of certain Hereditaments devised to him for life with Remainders over, by the Will and Codicils of the Reverend Edward Hughes, to raise not exceeding Twenty Thousand Pounds at Interest for rebuilding the Mansion and Offices at Kinmel Park, devised by the said Will and Codicils to the same Uses, and for other purposes
1563 - Memoranda in the hand of Philip Stapleton Humberston of Chester and correspondence relating to the strained relations existing between the first Lord Dinorben and his nephew Hugh Robert Hughes (who ultimately inherired the Kinmel Estate). Apparently Dinorben had taken grave exception to H.R.H's indiscretion in attending a Hunt Ball at Denbigh within a month or so of the death of his (D's) infant Daughter. When the old Baron himself died in February 1852 attempts were made to prevent H.R.H. from attending the funeral
