55 - An interesting letter wirtten by one Sir Hugh Roberts from Hereford to his "uncle and godfather" Hugh ap Llewelyn ap Ievan of Porthamel Isa (Plas Coch) reporting on the progress of his son David Lloyd in his studies at the Cathedral School of Hereford (?). The boy, he remarks, "hath lornyd hys p'vula and now he begynyth Omne dei p'p'm". Begs him to send fees for his sons's 'comyns' and 'stoll' (stove) due for the last quarter (6/8). "Wryttyn att Harfod the xxviij Day of Novembre" (about 1540).
