Deed of Grant by Sir Richard B, the third to Dame Agnes Bulkeley [his step-mother, second wife to the second Sir Richard] of lands in Newton, co. Cheshire [there are several Newtons in that county, but this is probably now called Newton Moor], on condition that Sir Richard's servants might have ingress and egress for the cutting of timber on these lands, but on condition also that Dame Agnes could utilise the fellable trees, i.e., those under twenty years growth. 7 July 1575
