<dc:title>Deed of mortgage</dc:title>
<dc:description>by William Owen, mariner, of Holyhead, and Elizabeth his wife, upon Tyddyn Pencraig in Cleifiog to John Bulkeley of Baron Hill (14 & 15 Novr.,1737); docts. preliminary to this transaction (1 & 2 Aug.,1737); then the assignment of the mortgage to William Prichard of Llangwyllog (18 June,1741); finally, the outright purchase of the premises by the aforesaid W.P. (28 June, 1742). Elizabeth Owen was grand-daughter to the Thomas Hughes who bought Pencraig from John Owen of Penrhos (doct. 1527); who John Bulkeley "of Baron Hill" exactly was is not too clear, unless he was John Bulkeley of Bwlchanan who had married Bridget, sister of Richard [fifth] Viscount Bulkeley</dc:description>
