Doom and award upon matters in controversy between three brothers - John, Hugh, and Rees, close relatives of William ap David ap Gwilym, parson of Llanfairfechan from 1513 to 1558. An unusual number of arbitrators, four, viz., William ap Ieuan Lloyd [who was one of the patrons of the living], Edmund Williams, clericus, William ap Ieuan ap Llywelyn, and John ap David. The award in practice meant that the two tenements of Maes y Bryn and Y Ty yng nglan yr Afon were to be divided between the three, and each one was to make a sufficient assurance in law to the two others to that effect - it seemed that John was on one side, the other two, on the other 23 April 1572
