Indenture of sale by Griffith Roberts of Cambwll to Sir John Bodvel of Bodfel by Pwllheli, upon the messuage of Ty yn y Cambwll, township of Gorddinog, with all its appurtenances, late in the possession of Robert ap William Griffith his father; lawful attorneys for the delivery: William Wynne of Dwygyfylchi and Hugh Griffith of Llannor. Whoever Griffith Roberts exactly was, he had a marvellously fine signature. What moved Sir John bodvel to take interest in a Gorddinog messuage is not clear; all we know is that his second wife was a daughter to Sir John Wynn of Gwydyr, and his aunt Ann married Simon Williams of Wig.
