Controversy over Gweirglodd y Elester and Cae Celyn [or Cuhelyn?] in Llanfairfechan between Thomas Bulkeley and William Piers Gronow, i.e., William ap Rees ap Gronow ap William [according to his own account of the aforesaid lands’ descent T.B. averred that the two parcels belonged as of right to his father Sir Richard, that they were let to a certain John Piers for and during the natural life of Howell ap Robert ap John ap Meyrick at the yearly rent of 20/-, with immediate reversion to Sir Richard; he must perforce, (he declares) leave many gaps in the dates because William Piers Gronow is detaining deeds and evidences. The answer of the latter is attached, denying seriatim the statements of T.B. No date, but approximately 1625 c.1625
