Indenture between Griffith Cadwaladr of Gwydre, township of Elernion, co. Carn., and Harry Humphrey of Pwllheli;deed of bargain and sale, consideration, £40, by G.C. upon Tyddyn y Morfa in Elernion, burdened by a lease for 11 years, on two parts only, granted to one Cadwaladr ap Thomas [not very likely to be Cadwaladr ap Thomas ap Robert ap Llywelyn of Gorswen by Caerhun, one of the chief Bulkeley agents in commote Issa] on Michaelmas last past, the third part being held in dower by Katherine Humphrey, widow, mother of G.C., wife to Cadwaladr deceased. The witnesses on the dorse introduce us to a completely new atmosphere from the usual Bulkeley docts. - to the Humphreys family of Pant Du by Llanllyfni [to which Harry belonged], to the Foxwists of Caernarvon, with whom they were closely intermarried [Pedigrees, 354] to Humphrey Evans and Edward Griffith of Elernion, and to a Rhydderch Madryn, who is certainly not found in the main line of Madryn (Pedigrees, 242). With this is a separate document in which Griffith Cadwaladr names Richard Foxwist of Caernarvon as his true and lawful attorney 11 November 1615
