Letter signed Ormonde (i.e. James Butler, 12th Earl and later first Duke), to Thomas Bulkeley at Beaumaris Recommending the bearer, Robert Hazard, as a skilled gunner for the defence of the port (taking the words literally, Hazard was sufficient of himself to do that work). No doubt he was one of the Irish, or English-Irish, forces set free to join the King's army in southern Britain by the "cessation" arranged between Ormonde and the Irish rebels about six weeks before (15 Sept.) 28 October 1643
