<dc:description>Devises all his messuages, lands, etc, in the township of Treflan and elsewhere in the parish of Llanbeblig, and in the parishes of Llanddeiniolen, Llanrug, Llanwnda, Llanllyfni, Clynnog and Dolbenmaen, co. C'fon; and Llangoed, Llangristiolus and Llandyfrydog, co. Anglesey; including a field near C'fon recently purchased called Caemaesglas, to his nephew Evan Evans, attorney-at-law, and his heirs for ever, upon trust : that Miss Mary Owen ("now taking care of my house") shall enjoy for life the messuage and lands, etc, called Helen Bank alias Llainbupur; that the said E.E. and M.O. shall live in the testator's dwelling-house in C'fon, as long as they wish; that the said M.O. is to have an annuity for life of £50 out of the profits of his quarries at Cilgwyn and Cefndu; that the son and 2 daughters of his sister Ann shall have £100 each from the same source; that the said E.E. shall have the rest of the quarry profits, and all his residual estate. Leaves "that most undutiful son" unprovided for, because of his "most infamous conduct to me upon all occasions". Leaves precise funeral instructions. Named the said E.E. and M.O. executors.
By a codicil dated 12 September 1824 leaves to the said E.E. a messuage, tenement and lands in Llanllechid called Llwynypenddu. By a further codicil dated 14 December 1825 leaves to his niece Dorothy £100, and specifies further funeral and monumental instructions.
By a third codicil dated 12 June 1827 makes provision for his son by now "confined in a Lunatic Asylum for a second time" : the said E.E. is to support the son for life in any asylum, but if he should be freed, he is to receive 1 guinea per week maintenance, and £20 p.a. for clothing, provided he "has no intercourse whatever with that infamous girl Sally"!
Leaves his new dwelling-house in Cae Maes Glas to the said M.O. for life with remainder to E.E.; leaves to the said son and 2 daughters of his sister Ann a further £200 each. A final brief codicil dated the same stipulates that "this house shall not be let to an Irishman or Irishwoman".
The testator died 8 July 1827.</dc:description>
