  <dc:description>A collection of 13 nature diaries written by Dr Paul Whalley recording the natural world observed around him. Ranging from his life as a teenager in Llandudno, to his time as a student in Bangor University, his expedition and research in Uganda, and his time as a professor, until his retirement on Anglesey. 
The diaries span a period of over 5 decades beginning in 1944 and come to their end in 2000. They contain highly detailed accounts of the various birds and wildlife spotted by Whalley and record changes and variations in the weather. They offer an image of a colourful and well experienced life of a man who had an undying passion for nature that lives on forever in these diaries.
The collection also includes some miscellaneous material.</dc:description>
