Bundle which relates to the Shrewsbury conference of Jan. 5,6, 1888, which seems to have laid down the main principles upon which the intermediate Education Act of 1889 was built. Sir John appears to be very prominent on the Aberystwyth side of the movement; there are letters to him from Sir (later Sir) Isambard Owen, Professor T.F. Roberts of Cardiff, and Principal Reichel of Bangor 1888
