Has obtained sheldrakes for his father, and is rearing them prior to their despatch to Alderley Park; has had some initial difficulty forming a Friendly Society at Holyhead, mainly because of the local clergyman's insistence on promoting the interests of his own father's rival society at Bryngwran; rumours of the formation of a Conservative Association in Anglesey (no. 176). The clergyman has had a stove erected in the Church, "... in the centre of the Penrhos Bradwen bench", and "the object is evident annoyance"; awaits his father's instructions (no.177).
